Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

Overview

EngageIQ is a Chrome browser extension built by Ahmasoft. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data EngageIQ accesses, how it is used, and where it is stored.

The short version: Your data stays in your browser. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal information.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your LinkedIn credentials or login information
  • We do not collect your browsing history
  • We do not collect your personal LinkedIn profile data
  • We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
  • We do not run analytics scripts
  • We do not store your knowledge base on our servers
  • We do not sell or share any data with third parties

Data Stored Locally

Your knowledge base (name, title, expertise, tone preferences, engagement goals, and custom context) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly trigger a comment generation.

Data Sent During Comment Generation

When you click the EngageIQ button to generate comments, the following data is sent to our API server:

  • The text content of the LinkedIn post you are commenting on
  • The post author's name and headline (as displayed publicly on the post)
  • Your knowledge base configuration
  • Any custom angle you entered for that specific generation

This data is sent to our API endpoint, processed by Claude (by Anthropic) to generate comments, and the results are returned to your browser. We do not log, store, or retain this data after the response is sent.

Third-Party Services

EngageIQ uses the Anthropic API (Claude) to generate comments. When generating comments, the post text and your knowledge base are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic's privacy policy and data handling practices apply to that transmission. You can review Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

LinkedIn Interaction

EngageIQ reads the visible content of LinkedIn posts in your feed to provide comment suggestions. It does not access your LinkedIn account, does not read your messages, does not scrape profile data, and does not perform any actions on LinkedIn on your behalf. Comment insertion is a convenience feature — you always review and submit comments yourself.

Data Deletion

Since your knowledge base is stored locally in your browser, you can delete it at any time by clearing the extension's data in Chrome's settings or by uninstalling the extension. No action is needed on our end because we do not store your data.

Children's Privacy

EngageIQ is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
